Time to "Clean House"

Spring will be here before you know it, so why wait until it hits to do a little spring cleaning? Don't be afraid, I'm not suggesting you should deep clean your house, just yet, I'm talking more about organization. February is my favorite month to get organized and reevaluate my life. Here are a few of my February favorites that help me clear my mind, and life.

Ditch the digits

There is no popularity contest for who has the most contacts and numbers on their phone. So why hold on to the numbers of contacts you don't talk to, or may have only talked to once? It is time to ditch some old digits, such as not so friendly ex's, random party people, and contacts under weird names such as "Bar dude" or "Beach boy." Your life, and your phone, will be much more sufficient without the clutter. If you haven't talked to the person in over two years, and can't see yourself rekindling with them, delete. Out with the old, in with new.

Social me silly

Social networks can be informative and fun, but also quite the hassle. Networks such as Twitter and Facebook can be very useful in keeping up with family, old friends, celebrities, and worldly events, but can also be time stealers or drama zones. I recently deleted my Facebook for about 6 months and it was honestly one of the best decisions I ever made, until I realized I was missing serious contact with some of my far away family. I made the decision to create a new account and solely have my family and close friends on it. I found that my old account had a large majority of strangers, not so friendly friends, and curious cats I have never really spoken to. I feel so much more at peace without having to try and keep up with the craziness. I get on, check up on family and friends, and get off, no more endless hours spent looking at useless information. Ditch the drama, keep your friends close, and the "haters" away from your every move. "Privacy is the new wealth" my friends, so be smart about who you let know everything about you.

Computer Crazy

The other night I was browsing through my computer and noticed a large number of old documents and pictures I could really live without. It took about an hour, but I cleared out a ton of space, just by sorting through documents, pictures, and my itunes. Not only  do I feel confident that everything on my computer is in it's rightful place, but I also feel like things are running a little smoother. Sometimes you just have to let go! Less clutter, less stress, more room. Win, win situation.

Boom, boom, more room

I walked in to my closet the other day, and although everything is either on a hanger or rightful spot, it was still a hot mess. I could not find anything decent to wear, and at first I was convinced that it was because I didn't have any clothes. While looking through my clothes, I realized that I actually had too many clothes, and just didn't wear a good portion of them anymore. I grabbed a plastic bag and started tossing away. I will admit, i'm not a hoarder but I love giving things a second chance. I literally had to pry certain clothing items out of my own hands and force myself to toss them in the  bag marked GIVE AWAY. The best thing to remember in this process of elimination is that YOU DON'T WEAR THEM ANYMORE and YOU CAN GIVE THEM TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS THEM. I managed to fill up two full bags of shirts, jeans, purses, shoes, you name it, to drop off at the Goodwill. I now have a lot more space, easier time picking an outfit from clothes I actually wear, and there is just enough room for new clothes to come. Good riddance!

My organization recommendations:

 IKEA storage box (it's huge)

Not only is it cute, but it's perfect for storing
 and organizing your things.
It's great for storing clothes, such as Summer/Winter.
I love mine =)
$15-$20 (depending on size)

Accordion File Folder

Perfect for keeping all of your important documents in, I don't know
what I would do without mine, between school papers and tax junk.
$1-$20 (My sister got mine at the dollar store)

Wicker Baskets

You can't go wrong with baskets, especially wicker baskets.
I use them to hold my magazines, belts, underwear, and beauty products.
The possibilities are endless.
$1-$30
